i'd like to talk about something very important to the tarot reader (and people in general) COMMUNICATION
(from Latin commūnicāre, meaning "to share" [1]) is the activity of conveying information through the exchange of thoughts, messages, ...or information, as by speech, visuals, signals, writing, or behavior. It is the meaningful exchange of information between two or more living creatures. Pragmatics defines communication as any sign-mediated interaction that follows combinatorial, context-specific, and content-coherent rules. Communication is an inherently social interaction, and communicative competence is the ability to engage in intersubjective interactions.
One definition of communication is “any act by which one person gives to or receives from another person information about that person's needs, desires, perceptions, knowledge, or affective states. Communication may be intentional or unintentional, may involve conventional or unconventional signals, may take linguistic or non-linguistic forms, and may occur through spoken or other modes.” [2]
Communication requires a sender, a message, and a recipient, although the receiver doesn't have to be present or aware of the sender's intent to communicate at the time of communication; thus communication can occur across vast distances in time and space. Communication requires that the communicating parties share an area of communicative commonality. The communication process is complete once the receiver understands the sender's message.[citation needed]
Communicating with others involves three primary steps: ◦Thought: First, information exists in the mind of the sender. This can be a concept, idea, information, or feelings. ◦Encoding: Next, a message is sent to a receiver in words or other symbols. ◦Decoding: Lastly, the receiver translates the words or symbols into a concept or information that he or she can understand.
...............sometimes the process just doesn't work. I explain to clients what I do, I am NOT a fortune teller. I give you insights/advice on life events that CAN happen but as with anything you have the free will to change them through direct action. recently I had a reading that just didn't go well. I know the client was dissatisfied because I didn't tell her what she wanted to hear. that's not my job! she also refused to participate when I asked her direct questions and added to that there was a language barrier. now I consider myself a very good communicator and all around people person but some words don't translate from one languge to the other without losing something. I strive to help those who come to me and shine the light into the darkness for the higher good of all. that's why I don't do the psychic phone lines and such personally i'd rather have face to face interaction and be able to "see" the results. it's a learning curve for me as well and i'm playing it over in my head to figure out how to better handle it in the future. but alas its like plastic surgery or remodeling a house in that if the client has unrealistic ideas and cant deal with the reality of it they wont reap the benefits of the service. sometimes I just have to do my very best then let it go and let God.
